Savile Row Academy (SRA) is the brainchild of Andrew Ramroop director of Savile Row tailors Maurice Sedwell Ltd., as a result of identifying an urgent need for highly trained skilful tailors in the UK.
The objective of Savile Row Academy (SRA) is to protect, enhance and develop the value of bespoke tailoring by training aspiring master tailors to the highest attainable standard.
To achieve this level of expertise SRA have developed its own teaching standards focusing on traditional methods of soft structured hand craft tailoring. Cutting and fitting in harmony with body shapes for style, elegance and comfort.
The quality of teaching is captioned as Andrew Ramroop Tailoring Standards (A.R.T.S). ARTS requires more than nineteen disciplines in hand craft sewing on each suit; from the distances apart of each stitch to the demanding and intricate skills required to expedite the pinnacle of excellence.
Andrew Ramroop has extensive knowledge and experience in teaching pattern cutting, fitting and tailoring at the London College of Fashion for 12 years. He has also trained numerous apprentices culminating to the Golden Shears Winner on the two occasions he has entered trainees into the prestigious competition.
